There is no reason that bikes and vehicles cannot share the road here in AIEA, HI. In order for everyone to stay safe, there are a few things that drivers need to keep in mind. The team at Cutter Mitsubishi-Aiea would like to share a few tips to make sure everyone reaches their destination without incident.
First, be sure to stay off of all electronics. This helps improve the safety of everyone on or near the road, whether they are on a bicycle or not. Bicyclists should also follow this rule and stay fully aware of their surroundings at all times.
Second, know that bicyclists have the same right to be on the road that vehicles do. Due to this, they also need to follow the same rules. Still, as a driver, you can help the situation by thinking about the additional challenges that those on a bike are facing on the road. Leave plenty of space when passing them, for example, and learn what common hand signals mean.
